Baker & Gingell’s experienced and knowledgeable staff of accounting professionals have three essential goals in serving their clients’ needs: 1) save them time, 2) save them money, 3) provide peace of mind by saving them stress. The partners and staff are proactive in keeping up-to-date on the latest developments regarding taxes and other financial issues that impact our clients, so that our input and advice reflects the realities of a rapidly changing financial landscape.
Baker & Gingell works with both businesses and personal clients from all walks of life. We have a special emphasis and in-house knowledge base regarding the restaurant industry and real estate. Tim Baker and Will Gingell combined their experience and talents by teaming up in 2004 to establish Baker & Gingell, PC.

Tim Baker, CPA
Born and raised in the small midwest city of Brookings, South Dakota, Tim moved to Oregon in 1981 to pursue an education at the University of Oregon. Baker earned both a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Masters in Business Administration from the U of O, graduating in 1989. Tim was licensed as a CPA in 1991 and worked for a large regional accounting firm in both Portland and Coos Bay for five years prior to a two-year stint as controller for a successful family-owned Portland retail/wholesale business. He later launched his own accounting firm in 1996.
Baker is a member of the AICPA, OSCPA and Portland’s Eastside Professional Association. He is an avid sports fan and accomplished photographer who often spends weekends exploring the landscapes and natural settings of Oregon’s great outdoors as seen through the lens of his Nikon cameras.

Will Gingell, CPA
Will is a longtime Oregonian, who grew up in the Portland area, attended Sunset High School, graduated from Portland State University’s School of Business Administration in 1998 and obtained his CPA license in 2001. He worked at an independent accounting firm for six years before teaming with Tim Baker to form Baker & Gingell, PC. Will was raised around his parents’ family-owned businesses and has a special affinity for working with clients in the restaurant and real estate industries.
Gingell married his high school sweetheart, Sandy, has two beautiful daughters and maintains his lifelong interest in soccer (including coaching his oldest daughter’s soccer team) and sports. Other outside activities include his membership in the East Portland Rotary Club and board membership in the local Art4Life non-profit organization which runs before-and-after-school diverse arts education programs.
Richard J. Petter, Licensed Tax Preparer
Richard is an Oregon Licensed Tax Preparer with 10 years of public accounting experience. He received his MBA degree from the University of California in 1987 and has extensive prior professional experinece in the wholesale, mining and agriculture industries.
Monica Rushworth, Administrative Assistant
Monica has been working in public accounting since 2001, with prior experience at Moss Adams, Gregg Associates, PC and Gregg/Block LLC. Her warm personality and attention to detail make her a favorite among clients and vendors.
